Celebrate something this summer just to have an excuse to host an event at The Whittlesey House, a new luxurious and historic home-turned-event-center in Albany.
The Whittlesey House
Established in 1908, The Whittlesey House has since been affectionately restored as a classic gathering space. Inspired by the home’s own history, tranquil Southern nights and a hint of French countryside, it’s an out-of-this-world “neighborhood gathering space.”
Weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries, office parties and other milestones will reach epic proportions in this unique setting.
The renovated interior combines modern amenities with original touches such as the floors, windows and grand stairway, for example.
The Whittlesey House currently boasts three spacious and beautiful suites. Each suite has custom furnishings, a king bed, 72” smart TV and a private bath. Other rooms include the Parlor, a multi-use space, and the Salon, a comfortable space perfect for bridal party pampering!
More about the house
According to The Whittlesey’s own story, the home’s first lady, Theora Whittlesey, loved to host and entertain, so the mansion became a popular gathering spot in the 1920s. A highly educated and accomplished woman, Theora was active in local education and served as the secretary for Easter Seals.
Today, mother-daughter team, Debbie and Molly Mazur, own and operate Albany’s new event venue. Debbie, the mother, is also the owner of The Bread House & Granary next door.
Ready to host a soirée? The Whittlesey House might be the perfect place located at 312 West Tift Ave. Give them a call at 229-886-0096 to find out more about planning your next event.
